A blog is a fantastic way to drive traffic. But, a blog is not necessarily the best way to monetize that traffic. Here’s what I mean. It took me forever to learn how to monetize my blog. I would spin my wheels trying different types of advertising things, like Adsense, like sponsored listings, and things of that nature.

It seemed like everything I did just was not working.

Then, I decided to start using my blog to build my list. Once I started using my blog as a platform to explode my list, my income grew fast.

Now, not only was I getting more and more visitors to my blog, but I was also getting more and more optins to my list. This is huge.

Now, two facets of my business were growing simultaneously. Not only was my blog growing, but also my list was growing.

This a great way to increase your income as a blogger. So, how do I use my blog to get optins?

First, if you look on the right side of the blog you will see that there is an opt in form there. This opt in forms telling you to go ahead and enter your name and e-mail address, and if you do, you will receive a free report in exchange.

That is one way. Next, I use a pop in. When you first arrived at the blog I’m sure you noticed that the screen went dark and a box appears asking you to opt in to my list. That is the second way that I use my blog to collect optins.

Next, I use the bottom of each post. If you do not see it right now it is because I just changed blog themes and still getting things set up, but I put an opt in form at the bottom of each post. So, whenever someone reads a post and thinks it’s good, they can go ahead and opt in to my list.

The great thing about the optins from the blog is people expect you to contact them. Every time you make an update to your blog you can actually contact your list.

So, if you update your blog daily you can send an e-mail every single day letting people know that there is new content on your blog.

It is amazing! People want these e-mails and expect them. So, you can keep in constant contact with your list and build unbelievable relationships. Is a fantastic way to not only build your business, but your relationships with your list.
