5 Keys That Practically Guarantee Affiliate Success

Have you ever considered affiliate marketing, but, realize you have no clue how to get started. In the short blog post I am going to give you five Keys to success when it comes to starting your affiliate business.

In reality, starting an affiliate marketing business is easier than you could ever imagine. Most people get caught up in learning, and never start doing. That is the root of all failure in my opinion. So, after today you will have a solid foundation to at least get started with your affiliate marketing business.

Find Your Niche

So many people get caught up on this fundamental step. I think the reason most people get hung up, is because marketers try to sell you on the fact that you need their product figure out which products are profitable and which are not. So, we think that you need to go through this painstaking process just to find a profitable niche. That cannot be further from the truth.

Finding a profitable niche is as easy as this… Go over to Amazon.com and start browsing through their website. Once you find a product that looks kind of cool start doing some keyword research. Look to see what type of traffic you can get with that product and start building your site. It is really as simple as that.

The best way to figure out what works and what does not work is to start doing. So, go out there find a product and start building a site. Learn from your mistakes and move on.

Building Your First Site

Again, people are scared of this. But, WordPress is an amazing solution that anyone can set up within 5 min. flat. With most Cpanel hosts all you need to do is go to what is called fantastico and click a couple buttons. You can literally click your way to your very first website.

Then, all you need to do is upload a nice theme and you are good to go.

Add Some Content

Next, you need to add some good quality content. Again, this is something people get all wrong. They think you need to add this amazing pre-sales copy that will force people to buy. Then, the average Joe gets scared because they do not think they can write that type of copy. I don’t blame you, it is hard to write kick butt sales copy. But, you do not need to.

All you need to do is go to the product you are trying to promote and rewrite what Amazon already has on their site. Add a couple blurbs about testimonials and you are good to go.

What most marketers fail to mention is that an honest review that is not salesy usually does better on a reviewed type of blog.

Promote Your Site

Next, you want to promote your site. The easiest and best way to do that is through Seo in my opinion. So, you and start building back links to your site. You can do this in a variety of ways but one of the easiest ways, in my opinion, is to write articles and press releases. You then submit those articles and press releases to the top article directories and press release directories with anchor text back to your website.

Rinse and Repeat

Then, you simply start over and do it all over again. You learn from your mistakes and get better and better as time goes. Your first few sites may not make any money at all. They may be homeruns. But, the goal is to learn how to get going. Learn how to take action. Then, as you’re taking that action you can learn from your mistakes and your sites will get better and better. Before you know it you will be making a full-time income and you will be wondering why you had not done this earlier.

So, the key to this system is simply take action. Get out there and start promoting sites. As you grow you will get better. As you get better, you will make more and more money.

  2. Shannon,
    I agree with your article.

Would add as a new blogger or affiliate marketer, to take it one step at a time. Trying to promote too many programs at one time especially in the early stages of your internet business is counter productive.

All very true Shannon. Particularly after the Panda updat from Google good quality content on sites and in articles is essential too. Give the people what they want and they will come back.

Essentially, you hit the essentials. Quoting Martha Stewart “That’s a good thing!” My blog supports your thoughts http://trainingworksblvd.wordpress.com/ with a slight variation. I hope you’ll always keep in touch.

  5. Hi Shannon,
So well put…people complicate things to a point where it all becomes too hard and then they quit.

The big boys are the cause of this …with all their latest products that promise the world and fail to deliver.

    Great post.

    Cheers
