I wake up in the morning without a thing to do. I do not have a to-do list, I do not have a schedule, I am just winging it. Before long I realize my business is tanking and if I don’t get it fixed I am going to have to get a job.
That was once my reality. I would get up every single morning with no clue of what I was going to do. My business took a hit too. A big hit. I had to fix this and I had to fix it fast.
Putting a little job in my life?
One of the reasons I hated a job was it dictated what I could do, how I could do it, and when I could do it. I always felt trapped. So when I started my business I swore that I would not schedule my life. I would figure it out as it came.
Well… as nice as that may seem, it is a recipe for disaster. Before I knew it my life was spinning out of control. My weight was ballooning, my work ethic decreasing and my tendency for destructive behavior was increasing. Worst of all… my business was taking a hit. A big hit.
5 Years of hard work down the drain…
I have worked my butt off the last 5 years to build a successful business and over the last 5 months I have done my best to throw it all away. The “Internet Lifestyle” is catching up with me. Too many vacations and not enough work. Destroying my relationships with my list and customers just to maintain that “no work” lifestyle. Plus I have turned into a person I do not even recognize. A person so hell bent on not working and just playing that I was willing to sacrifice my good name to maintain it.
That all stops now. All stops today.
How this effects you?
You may be asking yourself… How does this help me. Here is how… the best way to learn is 1. by your own mistakes and 2. learning from other peoples mistakes. I do not want you to make the same mistakes I have. I do not want you to forget why you started this whole venture.
Most importantly do not forget that there are actually people who are effected by what you do and how you do it. There are people who can be negativity affected by your actions.
I have built a business most people only can dream of and I built it with honesty and integrity. For the last 5 months I let that slide. And if my actions somehow affected you in a negative way… I apologize. And you can expect nothing but the best from me from now on.
The schedule is back on and I am going to stay focused building a business that helps you.
Work from Home – Not No Work From Home
In order to maintain your business you need to work. That may sound silly until that “passive money” starts rolling in. You realize that you have built a passive income that just keeps coming in month after month. It was after that realization that I started getting out of control. Sleeping till noon and spending as much money as i could during the day.
What happens though is you soon realize that “passive income” starts slipping as you do not work. Or as you do not manage how things are working. Unless you have someone take your place, which I did not.
So, as your business grows do not be fooled by that no work mentality. It takes work by you, or someone you hire to maintain it.
