I was surfing the Warrior Forum last night and ran into an interesting question about WordPress. You see the person was having a problem with his theme automatically excerpting all of his posts on the homepage.

Even though he changed his theme the excerpts would still show up on his homepage. He really did not know what to do with it and was getting frustrated.

Actually, here is the exact question…

“Hi everyone. I am currently trying to change my wordpress theme to something a little bit more simple. I’m tired of the green. However, for some reason no matter what theme I install, all but the first post on my blog is just showing excerpts. I would really like at least a few of the posts to show the whole thing on the home page.

Even when I switch to the standard wordpress theme, it is excerpting all but the first post. Can someone please help me switch up my theme and make it so my whole posts show on the home page?”

Well, the first thing I thought of was a plug-in.. Sometimes when you install a theme plug-ins will be installed with it. They need those plug-ins to work. So, my thought was that the theme he was using previously added a plug-in that would automatically insert the more tag into the posts for him.

Come to find out that was the exact problem that he had. I actually put together a video tutorial as well.

So, if you are having a problem where your posts are being excerpted on the home page of your blog make sure that you do not have a plug-in installed that automatically inserts the more tag into your posts. Check out the video tutorial below.
